Södertälje is a city in Stockholm County, Sweden and seat of Södertälje Municipality. It is also a part of Greater Stockholm Metropolitan Area. As of 2020, it has 73,872 inhabitants. Södertälje is located at Mälarens confluence in to the Baltic Sea through the lock in the Södertälje Canal. The canal has the largest ship lock in the Nordic region. Since year 2000, it is the largest city located entirely within the province of Södermanland.

One of the highlights of Södertälje is its rich history. The town has been inhabited since the Viking Age and was an important trading center during the Middle Ages. You can still see remnants of this history in the town's architecture, such as the medieval St. Ragnhild's Church and the 17th-century Torekällberget Open-Air Museum.

In addition to its history, Södertälje is also known for its stunning natural beauty. The town is situated on the shores of Lake Mälaren and is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. You can explore this natural beauty on foot or by bike on one of the many trails that crisscross the area.
