Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Cerveteri is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Italian region of Lazio. Known by the ancient Romans as Caere, and previously by the Etruscans as Caisra or Cisra, and as Agylla by the Greeks, its modern name derives from Caere Vetus used in the 13th century to distinguish it from Caere Novum.

Known for its ancient Etruscan necropolis, Cerveteri is a must-visit destination for history buffs. The Necropolis of Banditaccia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the largest and most well-preserved Etruscan cemeteries in Italy. With its elaborate tombs and intricate frescoes, the site provides a fascinating glimpse into the customs and beliefs of the Etruscan civilization.

Aside from its rich history, Cerveteri is also a haven for nature lovers. The surrounding hills and countryside offer breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the nearby Macchia della Magona nature reserve boasts a diverse array of flora and fauna.
