Ustica is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, administravely part of the comune (municipality) of the same name in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the autonomous island region of Sicily in southern Italy. It is about 5 kilometres (3 mi) across and is situated 52 kilometres (32 mi) north of Capo Gallo in the city of Palermo. It has 1,323 inhabitants.

As soon as you step off the ferry onto Ustica, you will be surrounded by the island's natural beauty. The island is home to several hiking trails that offer breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the island's rugged coastline. One of the most popular trails is the Giro dell'Isola, a 9-kilometer loop that takes you around the island and past several historic sites.

Speaking of history, Ustica has a fascinating past. The island was originally settled by the Phoenicians, and later became a strategic location for the Roman Empire. In more recent times, Ustica was used as a prison during World War II. Today, visitors can explore the island's history at the Museo Archeologico, which houses artifacts from the island's ancient past.
