Urfa, officially called Şanlıurfa, is a city in southeastern Turkey and the capital of Şanlıurfa Province. Urfa is situated on a plain about 80 km (50 mi) east of the Euphrates. Its climate features extremely hot, dry summers and cool, moist winters.

Sanlıurfa is often referred to as the "City of Prophets" due to its religious significance. It's believed to be the birthplace of Abraham, one of the most important figures in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. You can visit the Cave of Abraham, a sacred site believed to be the birthplace of the prophet, and the Pool of Sacred Fish, where it's said that God saved Abraham from the fire.

Aside from its religious significance, Sanlıurfa is also known for its delicious cuisine. You must try the local specialty, Şanlıurfa kebabı, made with minced meat and spices. You can also sample other tasty dishes such as lahmacun, a thin pizza-like dish topped with minced meat and vegetables, and baklava, a sweet pastry made with layers of phyllo dough and honey.
