Aparts de los Pajaros

El Calafate, also called Calafate, is a city in the Argentine province of Santa Cruz, in Patagonia. It is located on the southern border of Lago Argentino, in the southwest part of the province. It is the seat of government for the Lago Argentino Department within the province. The name of the city is also the name of a small bush, with yellow flowers and dark-blue berries, that is very commonly seen in the region—the calafate. The word comes from the word calafate, which is Spanish for 'caulk'.

In El Calafate, YOU will have the opportunity to witness the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world that is still advancing. This glacier is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a sight to behold. You can take a boat tour to get up close and personal with the glacier or even walk on it with a guided tour.

Another stunning attraction in El Calafate is Lake Argentino, the largest lake in Argentina. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is home to many different species of birds and wildlife. You can take a boat tour on the lake and witness the beauty of the glaciers that flow into it.
