Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Kouklia is a village in the Paphos District, about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) east from the city of Paphos on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The village is built over the site of the ancient city of Palaepaphos, mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty, which became the centre for her worship in the ancient world. Because of its ancient religious significance and architecture, Kouklia was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with Nea Paphos in 1980.

Nestled at the foot of the Troodos Mountains, Kouklia is a serene and picturesque destination that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and modern amenities. This ancient village boasts a rich history that dates back to the Neolithic period, making it one of the oldest settlements in Cyprus.

As you explore Kouklia, you'll find yourself wandering through narrow streets lined with traditional stone houses and quaint cafes. The village is home to several historic landmarks, including the Sanctuary of Aphrodite, which is believed to be the birthplace of the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility.
