Ebensee am Traunsee is a market town in the Traunviertel region of the Austrian state of Upper Austria, located within the Salzkammergut Mountains at the southern end of the Traunsee. The regional capital Linz lies approximately 90 km (56 mi) to the north, nearest towns are Gmunden and Bad Ischl. The municipality also comprises the Katastralgemeinden of Langwies, Oberlangbath, Rindbach, Kohlstatt and Roith.

Surrounded by majestic mountains and crystal-clear lakes, Ebensee is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. You can spend your days hiking through the Alps, kayaking on Lake Traunsee, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll through the town's picturesque streets.

But Ebensee has much more to offer than just stunning landscapes. This historic town is home to a number of cultural attractions, including the Ebensee concentration camp memorial, which serves as a powerful reminder of the atrocities of World War II. Additionally, you can explore the town's fascinating mining history at the Salzwelten salt mine and learn about the traditional handicrafts of the region at the local museum.
