Taxco de Alarcón is a small city and administrative center of Taxco de Alarcón Municipality located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Taxco is located in the north-central part of the state, 36 kilometres from the city of Iguala, 135 kilometres from the state capital of Chilpancingo and 170 kilometres southwest of Mexico City.

As you wander through the streets of Taxco de Alarcón, you'll be transported back in time to the colonial era with its narrow cobblestone streets, white-washed buildings, and red-tiled roofs. The town's unique architecture is a blend of Spanish and indigenous designs, with many buildings adorned with intricate wrought-iron balconies, colorful tiles, and ornate carvings.

One of the main attractions of Taxco de Alarcón is its rich silver mining history. The town was once the center of the silver trade in Mexico and is still renowned for its silver jewelry and handicrafts. You can visit one of the many silver workshops and watch skilled artisans create beautiful pieces of jewelry right before your eyes.
