Windermere is a ribbon lake in Cumbria, England. It is within the Lake District and is the largest lake in England by length, area, and volume, although considerably smaller than the largest Scottish lochs and Northern Irish loughs.
Located in the heart of the Lake District, Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, stretching over 11 miles long and surrounded by beautiful wooded hills and towering mountains. This picturesque region has inspired poets, writers, and artists for centuries, and it's easy to see why.
One of the most popular attractions in the area is the Windermere Lake Cruises, where YOU can enjoy a leisurely boat ride and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and islands. Alternatively, YOU can take a hike along one of the many walking trails that wind through the countryside, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding area.
