Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.
St. Boswells was a Saint-class Admiralty tug that was built in Scotland in 1919 and sunk by a mine in the North Sea in 1920 with the loss of 16 of her crew. The United Kingdom Admiralty owned her, but she was registered as a merchant ship, and had a civilian merchant crew.
As you stroll through the town's streets, you will be met with a plethora of charming buildings and historic sites. One of the most notable is the 12th-century Melrose Abbey, which boasts intricate stone carvings and impressive architecture. Another must-see is the nearby Dryburgh Abbey, a ruined monastery that dates back to the 12th century.
If you're a fan of outdoor activities, Saint Boswells has plenty to offer. Take a leisurely walk along the River Tweed, which winds its way through the town and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Or, for the more adventurous, try your hand at fishing in the river's clear waters.
