Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.
Saulieu is a rural commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of central-east France. Its 2,413 inhabitants call themselves Sédélociens.
As you wander through the cobblestone streets, you'll find yourself surrounded by stunning architecture, including the Gothic-style Basilique Saint-Andoche and the charming Maison du Tourisme. But Saulieu isn't just a pretty face - it's also home to some of the best food in Burgundy. Be sure to try the local specialty, jambon persillé, a delicious ham terrine flavored with parsley and garlic.
If you're a history buff, you won't want to miss the Musée François Pompon, which houses the works of the famous French sculptor. And for nature lovers, the nearby Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan offers breathtaking views of the lakes and forests of Burgundy.
