Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Stefano di Giovanni di Consolo, known as il Sassetta was a Tuscan painter of the Late Gothic of the Sienese School style, adapting some Renaissance innovations.

As you wander through the winding streets of Sassetta, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. The town's medieval architecture remains intact, and its narrow alleys and stone buildings are perfect for exploring. Take a stroll up to the ancient castle, where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

In addition to its historical charm, Sassetta is known for its delicious cuisine. The town is located in the heart of Tuscany's wine country, and you'll find plenty of opportunities to sample local wines. Be sure to try the region's famous truffles, as well as other traditional dishes like pasta with wild boar ragù and ribollita, a hearty Tuscan soup.
