CASA DELL'ANNA

Galatina, known before the unification of Italy as San Pietro in Galatina, is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Lecce in Apulia, southern Italy. It is situated about 21 kilometres (13 mi) south of the city of Lecce.

As you wander through the narrow streets of Galatina, you'll be transported back in time with its stunning Baroque architecture and ancient churches, including the Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, which boasts impressive frescoes and artwork. Take a moment to admire the intricate details of the Palazzo Orsini, a 16th-century palace that now serves as the town hall.

One of the highlights of visiting Galatina is its vibrant cultural scene, particularly during the summer months when the town comes alive with various festivals and events. In August, make sure to attend the Notte della Taranta, a traditional festival celebrating the Pizzica, a local folk dance. You'll be mesmerized by the lively music and colorful costumes as locals and visitors alike dance the night away.
