Casa en el rio

General Roca is a city in the northeast of the Argentine province of Río Negro, northern Patagonia. It was founded on September 1, 1879, by Colonel Lorenzo Vintter, on the order of War Minister Julio A. Roca, during the Conquest of the Desert. The place of the first settlement was known by native mapuche people as Fiske Menuco, which means "deep water". It was destroyed in 1899 by a flooding of the Río Negro, and had to be rebuilt 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northwest in higher lands.

Nestled in the heart of Rio Negro province, General Roca is a picturesque town that boasts a rich history, stunning landscapes, and a vibrant culture. As you explore the town, you'll be mesmerized by the lush green valleys, imposing mountain ranges, and scenic countryside that surrounds it.

The town is named after General Julio Argentino Roca, a prominent military figure who played a pivotal role in the country's history. Today, General Roca is known for its thriving agricultural industry, which produces some of the finest fruits and vegetables in the region.
