Chalet at Blumar North Coast

El Alamein is an Egyptian city in the northern Matrouh Governorate. Located on the Mediterranean Sea, it lies 106 kilometres (66 mi) west of Alexandria and 300 kilometres (186 mi) northwest of Cairo. The city is divided into three main areas: El Alamein, Cidi, and Tal El Eis village.

As you arrive in El Alamein, you'll immediately be struck by the stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters that stretch along the coastline. But it's not just the natural beauty of the area that draws visitors - it's the rich history that can be found here. The first battle of El Alamein, which took place in July 1942, saw the Allied forces push back against the Axis powers and marked a turning point in the North African campaign.

Today, visitors can explore the Commonwealth War Cemetery, which serves as a memorial to the soldiers who fought and died in the battle. The cemetery is a peaceful and solemn place, with rows upon rows of white headstones marking the final resting place of those who gave their lives for their country.
