Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Gruissan is a commune in the Aude department in southern France. The historian Émile Raunié (1854–1911) was born in Gruissan.

Gruissan is a picturesque town that's famous for its beautiful beaches and stunning landscapes. The town is situated on a hill that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, and there are plenty of scenic walks and hikes that you can take to explore the surrounding area. The town itself is full of narrow streets and alleyways that are lined with traditional French buildings, and there are plenty of quaint cafes and restaurants where you can sample some of the local cuisine.

One of the most iconic landmarks in Gruissan is the Tour Barberousse, a medieval tower that was built in the 13th century. The tower is named after the famous pirate Barbarossa, who was once imprisoned there, and it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Another must-see attraction is the Salins de Gruissan, a salt marsh that's been used for salt production since Roman times. You can take a guided tour of the salt marshes and learn about the history and culture of this unique area.
