Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Oban is a resort town and seaport in the west of Scotland, within the Argyll and Bute council area. Although small, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William. Oban has a population of 8,000 (2022), which rises to over 24,000 during the tourist season. Oban is on the Firth of Lorn. The bay forms a near-perfect horseshoe, protected by the island of Kerrera and, beyond Kerrera, the Isle of Mull. To the north are the long, low island of Lismore and the mountains of Morvern and Ardgour.

Oban is a beautiful town that is well-known for its fantastic seafood, picturesque landscapes, and charming architecture. The town is situated on the shores of the Firth of Lorn, and it is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Isles," as it is a popular departure point for ferries to the nearby islands of Mull, Iona, and Staffa.

One of the most iconic landmarks in Oban is McCaig's Tower, a structure that resembles the Colosseum in Rome. The tower provides breathtaking views of the town and the surrounding area, and it is a popular spot for visitors to take photos.
