Dhulikhel, also known as Dhaukhya, is a municipality in Kavrepalanchok District of Nepal. It is the district headquarters, from where two major highways, the B.P. Highway and the Araniko Highway passes through. Araniko Highway connects Kathmandu, Nepal's capital city with Tibet's border town of Kodari. Dhulikhel is located at the Eastern rim of Kathmandu Valley, south of the Himalayas at 1550m above sea level and is situated 30 km southeast of Kathmandu and 74 km southwest of Kodari. The majority of people in Dhulikhel are Newars, and Brahmin, Chhettri, Tamang and Dalit are also living in outer area of the town.

As you make your way through the winding streets of Dhulikhel, you'll be greeted by ornate temples, traditional Newari houses, and friendly locals. The town is located just 30 km east of Kathmandu, making it an ideal destination for a day trip or a weekend getaway.

One of the main attractions in Dhulikhel is the breathtaking view of the Himalayan range. You can take a leisurely hike or bike ride up to one of the many viewpoints, where you'll be rewarded with panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks, including Mount Everest on a clear day.
