Discover Bagani

Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

The bagani or magani were the class of warrior-leaders of various Lumad ethnic groups of the island of Mindanao, Philippines. Bagani were most notably integral to the traditional society and government of the Mandaya, Mansaka, Manobo, and Bagobo people. They usually acquired their status through bravery in battle, fortitude, physical strength, and most importantly, natural charisma and leadership skills. Various bagani of the past have become mythologized as heroes in their communities.

As you explore Bagani, you'll discover a rich cultural heritage that is deeply ingrained in the local way of life. The area is home to the San people, who have lived in Namibia for thousands of years and have a deep connection to the land. You can learn about their traditions and customs by visiting the Living Museum of the San, where you'll be able to see and experience their daily life.

In addition to the cultural experience, Bagani also offers stunning natural beauty. The area is located along the Okavango River, which is home to a variety of wildlife such as elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. You can take a boat tour along the river to see these majestic animals up close and personal.
