Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Kaprun is a municipality in the Zell am See District in the province of Salzburg in Austria. Together with the neighboring city of Zell am See the town presents itself as the tourist destination and skiing area "Zell am See-Kaprun". Kaprun distinguishes itself from its larger neighbor at the lake, by offering all year access to the Kitzsteinhorn with its Top of Salzburg viewing platform at 3,029 metres (9,938 ft) altitude and its glacier ski area that is open October through May.

One of the main draws of Kaprun is its close proximity to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, which is open for skiing and snowboarding year-round. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, the glacier offers a variety of slopes to suit every skill level. And if skiing isn't your thing, there are plenty of other outdoor activities to enjoy, such as hiking, biking, and swimming in Lake Zell.

Speaking of Lake Zell, it's a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Kaprun. The lake is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, and there are plenty of water sports and activities to enjoy, such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing. And if you're looking for a more relaxing way to spend your time, there are plenty of lakeside cafes and restaurants where you can sit back and take in the views.
