Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Fumba is a village and shehia on the Tanzanian island of Unguja, part of Zanzibar. It is located within the Fumba Free Economic Zone, a special economic zone encompassing the territory of the Fumba Peninsula established by the Zanzibari government to promote international trade and investment. The shehia's eastern shoreline is home to Fumba Port which, upon its completed expansion, will serve as Zanzibar's primary import hub.

Located just a few kilometers from Zanzibar, Fumba is a coastal village that offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. The village is home to a vibrant community of fishermen, who spend their days catching a variety of fish and seafood that can be found in the waters surrounding the village.

One of the most fascinating things about Fumba is the way in which the village has managed to preserve its traditional way of life, while still embracing modernity. As you walk through the village, you will see fishermen tending to their boats, women selling fresh produce at the local market, and children playing in the streets.
