Gables Cottage

Northwich is a market town and civil parish in the Cheshire West and Chester borough of Cheshire, England. It lies on the Cheshire Plain, at the confluence of the rivers Weaver and Dane, 18 miles (29 km) east of Chester, 15 miles (24 km) south of Warrington, 19 miles (31 km) south of Manchester, 69 miles (111 km) north of Birmingham and 22 miles (35 km) south-east of Liverpool. The population of the parish was 22,726 at the 2021 census.

One of the town's most significant attractions is the Anderton Boat Lift, which is considered one of the top engineering feats of the Victorian era. This impressive structure was built in 1875 and is a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering that lifts boats 50 feet from the River Weaver to the Trent and Mersey Canal.
