Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Sautens is a municipality in the Imst district located 9 kilometres (6 mi) southeast of Imst on the lower course of the Ötztaler Ache. The village is located to catch the sun but is protected from the wind, which makes for an especially mild climate. The main source of income is agriculture. Fruit is especially important with a good part of the harvest used to make Schnapps.

When you arrive in Sautens, you'll immediately notice the stunning Alpine scenery that surrounds you. With its location in the Tyrolean Alps, this town is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts who love hiking, skiing, and exploring the mountains. The Ötztal Valley is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Austria, with routes taking you through lush forests, past sparkling lakes, and up to breathtaking mountain peaks.

Beyond the natural beauty, Sautens also has a rich history and culture that's waiting to be discovered. The town is filled with traditional Tyrolean architecture, including charming wooden houses and the iconic onion-domed churches. You can also explore local museums and learn about the region's history of mining and agriculture.
