Hahei is a small settlement in Mercury Bay on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. It is near Cathedral Cove, between the settlements of Cooks Beach and Hot Water Beach. It is approximately 11 km south east of Whitianga and 8 km north of Hot Water Beach.
One of the most popular attractions in Hahei is the world-renowned Cathedral Cove. This picturesque beach can only be accessed by foot or boat, but the scenic walk is well worth the effort. As YOU make your way through the lush forest, YOU will be greeted with breathtaking views of the coastline and turquoise waters. Once YOU reach the beach, YOU can relax on the soft sand or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters.
If YOU are looking for more adventure, WE recommend taking a kayak tour of the coastline. Paddle through sea caves and past hidden beaches, and keep an eye out for dolphins and other marine life. For thrill-seekers, there are also opportunities for cliff jumping and rock climbing.
