HI Point Montara Lighthouse

On the rugged Northern California coast, just 35 km south of San Francisco, this historic preserved 1875 fog signal station and lighthouse features beds in shared dormitories with free WiFi.

Each room provides towels and fresh linens. Access to a shared bathroom is provided for all rooms at HI Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel.

Restored by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the Coast Guard, HI Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel offers access to the coastline and wildlife viewing. Watch annual gray whale migration from November through April.

Featuring a 6 km stretch of tide pools full of starfish, crabs, mussels, abalone, and sea anemones, James Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is 15 km away. Swim, surf, kayak, jog, horseback ride, windsurf and bicycle along the shore at HI Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel.
