Agra is a city on the banks of the Yamuna river in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a part of Western Uttar Pradesh, about 230 kilometres (140 mi) south-east of the national capital Delhi and 330 km west of the state capital Lucknow. It is also part of the Braj region. With a population of roughly 1.6 million, Agra is the fourth-most populous city in Uttar Pradesh and twenty-third most populous city in India.

Agra is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. This stunning white marble mausoleum was built in the 17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts millions of visitors every year. It is a sight to behold, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light reflects off the marble and creates a magical glow.

Apart from the Taj Mahal, Agra has other historical landmarks that are worth visiting. The Agra Fort is another UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the 16th century by Emperor Akbar. This massive red sandstone fortress has impressive architecture and served as a residence for the Mughal emperors. The Itmad-ud-Daula is another exquisite mausoleum that is often called the "Baby Taj" due to its similar design and intricate carvings.
