Fano is a coastal city and comune of the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region of Italy located 12 kilometres southeast of Pesaro at the point where the Via Flaminia reaches the Adriatic Sea. As of 2021, it has a population of approximately 59,000, smaller than Ancona and Pesaro.

Other historical sites worth visiting include the Malatesta Fortress, a 15th-century castle that now houses a museum, and the Church of Santa Maria Nuova, a beautiful Gothic-style church that dates back to the 12th century.

But Fano is not just about history. The town's long sandy beach, which stretches for over 7 km, is perfect for a day of sunbathing or swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
