In the prestigious seaside village of Scopello, which overlooks the Faraglioni rock-stacks and the ancient Tonnara 300, metres below, this elegant hotel is also close to the enchanting Nature reserve of Lo Zingaro.

The hotel is well situated for visiting the most important cultural sites in the area: Segesta; Erice; Egadi Islands; Trapani; Palermo (Monreale); and Selinunte are all within an hour’s drive. The hotel also offers the possibility of excursions and boat trips, and the chance to dive on the wonderful natural coast line near Scopello.

The hotel opened in 1969 but was originally founded in the early 1700’s, on the site of an earlier Arab castle. Carefully restored, this family-run hotel maintains the traditions of hospitality and fine regional cooking.

Scopello is a comune (municipality) located in the Valsesia region of the Italian Pennine Alps, administratively in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont. The municipality covers an area of 18.62 square kilometres (7.19 mi2) and ranges in elevation from 640 to 1,930 metres above sea level. It takes its name from its main centre, the small town of Scopello, which stands on the river Sesia at an elevation of 659 metres (2,162 ft).

As you wander through the picturesque streets lined with white-washed buildings and colorful shutters, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. The village is steeped in history, with ancient ruins dating back to the 4th century BC still visible today. Be sure to visit the Tonnara di Scopello, a former tuna fishery that has been converted into a museum and cultural center.

Of course, the main draw of Scopello is its breathtaking natural beauty. The village is surrounded by a nature reserve, with hiking trails that offer stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the nearby Zingaro Nature Reserve. The beach at Scopello is small but stunning, with crystal clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
