Avalon is an island featured in the Arthurian legend. It first appeared in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 Historia Regum Britanniae as a place of magic where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was made and later where Arthur was taken to recover from being gravely wounded at the Battle of Camlann. Since then, the island has become a symbol of Arthurian mythology, similar to Arthur's castle, Camelot.

Nestled on the beautiful Santa Catalina Island in California, Avalon is a small and charming seaside town that offers an abundance of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. With a population of just over 3,700 people, the town has a laid-back and friendly atmosphere that makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation.

One of the main attractions of Avalon is its stunning beaches, which offer crystal-clear waters and soft sand that make for a perfect day of swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. Among the most popular beaches are Descanso Beach, which boasts a private strip of sand and offers an array of water activities such as kayaking and snorkeling, and Lover's Cove, a protected marine reserve that is home to a wide variety of sea life.
