Since December 2014, Pekalongan has been a member of UNESCO's World's Creative Cities Network, the first Southeast Asian city to be added to the list.

As WE embark on our journey, YOU will be transported to a world of traditional batik art, mouth-watering local cuisine, and friendly locals eager to share their stories with YOU. Pekalongan is a city steeped in history, with a past that includes Dutch colonization and a vibrant trade in textiles. Today, the city is a bustling center of commerce and culture, with a thriving art scene and an abundance of natural beauty.

One of the highlights of any visit to Pekalongan is the opportunity to explore the city's many batik workshops. Batik is a traditional Indonesian art form that involves applying wax to fabric before dyeing it. The result is a stunning piece of fabric that is both beautiful and functional. In Pekalongan, YOU can visit workshops to learn more about the batik process and even try your hand at creating your own design.
