Solčava is a village in the Upper Savinja Valley in northern Slovenia close to the Austrian border. It is the largest settlement and the seat of the Municipality of Solčava. Traditionally it belonged to the region of Styria and is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.
Nestled in the heart of the Alps, Solčava is a small village that boasts breathtaking scenery, including the Logar Valley, one of the most picturesque spots in Slovenia. The valley is a glacial alpine valley that stretches for 7 kilometers and is surrounded by towering mountains and lush forests. You can explore the valley on foot, by bike, or on horseback, and there are plenty of trails to choose from, depending on your level of fitness and experience.
Another must-see attraction in Solčava is the Rinka waterfall, which is located at the end of the Logar Valley. The waterfall drops from a height of 90 meters and is a popular spot for photography and picnics. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also try your hand at rock climbing or zip-lining in the nearby Peca underground.
