Ermoupoli, also known by the formal older name Ermoupolis or Hermoupolis, is a town and former municipality on the island of Syros, in the Cyclades, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Syros-Ermoupoli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. It is also the capital of the South Aegean region. The municipal unit has an area of 11.18 km2.

As you stroll through the streets of Ermoupoli, you'll notice the neoclassical architecture that lines the roads and alleyways. The town was once a thriving commercial center, and this is reflected in the grandeur of the buildings. The most famous of these is the Apollo Theater, which was designed by the Italian architect Pietro Avoscani in 1864. The theater is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe, and is still in use today.

In addition to the Apollo Theater, Ermoupoli is also home to a number of other cultural landmarks. The Town Hall, for example, is an impressive building that dominates the central square. It was built in the late 19th century and features a clock tower that can be seen from almost anywhere in the town. Another must-see attraction is the Ano Syros neighborhood, which is located on a hill above Ermoupoli. Here, you'll find winding streets, traditional houses, and stunning views of the Aegean Sea.
