Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Montauban is a commune in the southern French department of Tarn-et-Garonne. It is the capital of the department and lies 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Toulouse. Montauban is the most populated town in Tarn-et-Garonne, and the sixth most populated in Occitanie behind Toulouse, Montpellier, Nîmes, Perpignan and Béziers. In 2023, there were 62,945 inhabitants, called Montalbanais in French. The town has been classified in the French Towns and Lands of Art and History network since 2015.

As you make your way through the town's narrow streets, you'll be greeted by beautiful buildings that date back to the 17th century. The town's most prominent landmark is the Pont Vieux, a bridge that spans the Tarn River and offers breathtaking views of the town.

Montauban is also home to the Musée Ingres, a museum dedicated to the life and works of French painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. Here you'll find a collection of his paintings, drawings, and sculptures, as well as other works of art from the 19th and 20th centuries.
