Cholpon-Ata is a resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan with a population of 14,237 (2021). It is the administrative center of the Issyk-Kul District of Issyk-Kul Region; this district occupies most of the lake's north shore. To the west along highway A363 is Tamchy and to the east is Bosteri.

Cholpon-Ata is nestled on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the second-largest alpine lake in the world. The picturesque lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, making for breathtaking views. You can take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, go fishing, or rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the lake at your own pace.

In addition to its natural beauty, Cholpon-Ata is home to several historical and cultural landmarks. The open-air Petroglyph Museum showcases ancient rock carvings dating back to the Bronze Age, depicting animals, people, and hunting scenes. You can also visit the nearby Ruh Ordo Cultural Center, which celebrates the diversity of world religions and features a collection of sculptures and installations.
