Ürgüp is a town in Nevşehir province in the Cappadocia area of Central Anatolia, Turkey. It is the seat of Ürgüp District. Its population is 24,647 (2022). The town lies at an average elevation of 1,044 m (3,425 ft).

One of the most striking features of Urgup is its unusual rock formations known as "fairy chimneys". These tall, slender pillars have been formed over thousands of years by volcanic eruptions and erosion, creating a surreal landscape that is truly breathtaking. You can explore the fairy chimneys on foot or take a hot air balloon ride for an even more spectacular view.

Urgup is also home to many ancient churches and monasteries, including the stunning Tokali Kilise, which dates back to the 10th century. The town has a rich history, having been inhabited by Hittites, Persians, Romans and Byzantines over the centuries.
