Fort Augustus is a settlement in the parish of Boleskine and Abertarff, at the south-west end of Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands. The village has a population of around 620 (2020). Its economy is heavily reliant on tourism.

The town lies at the southern end of the Great Glen, a geological fault that stretches for 60 miles through the Highlands. This makes it an excellent base for exploring the surrounding mountains and glens, including the famous Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest peak.
