Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Jumièges is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region in north-western France. In 1868, the commune of Heurteauville was created from part of the Jumièges.

As you explore Jumièges, you will be transported back in time to the era of the Vikings and the Normans. The town is home to the stunning Jumièges Abbey, a Benedictine monastery that was founded in the 7th century. The abbey was destroyed during the Viking invasions in the 9th century but was rebuilt in the 11th century, making it one of the most important religious sites in Europe during the Middle Ages.

Apart from the abbey, Jumièges has several other historical sites that are worth visiting. The town's Romanesque church, Église Saint-Valentin, is a beautiful example of Norman architecture and dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries. You can also visit the ruins of the Château de Jumièges, a 15th-century castle that was destroyed during the French Revolution.
