Alvaneu is a village and former municipality in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of Alvaschein, Mon, Stierva, Tiefencastel, Alvaneu, Brienz/Brinzauls and Surava merged to form the new municipality of Albula/Alvra.
Alvaneu is a small village located in the canton of Graubünden, and is easily accessible by train or car. The village is surrounded by stunning mountain peaks, including the Piz Ela and Piz Mitgel, which offer numerous hiking and skiing opportunities. One of the most popular activities in Alvaneu is visiting the Alvaneu Bad thermal baths, which has been a destination for wellness-seekers for over 150 years.
