Castel Gandolfo, colloquially known as Castello in the Castelli Romani dialects, is a small town located 25 km (16 mi) southeast of Rome, in the Italian region of Lazio. Situated on a hilltop in the Alban Hills with panoramic views of Lake Albano, Castel Gandolfo is home to approximately 8,900 residents and is renowned as one of Italy's most scenic towns. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia.

The town is famous for its Papal Palace, which has served as the summer residence of the Pope for centuries. The palace and its gardens are open to the public and offer a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Papal court. You can explore the rooms of the palace, admire the beautiful frescoes and tapestries, and stroll through the meticulously maintained gardens.

In addition to the Papal Palace, Castel Gandolfo has a rich history that can be seen in its architecture and landmarks. The town's main square, Piazza della Libertà, is home to the Chiesa di San Tommaso di Villanova, a beautiful church that dates back to the 17th century. The town's narrow streets and alleyways are lined with shops selling local crafts and souvenirs, as well as restaurants serving traditional Italian cuisine.
