Montignoso is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Massa and Carrara in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northwest of Florence and about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) southeast of Massa.
Montignoso's rich heritage dates back to the Etruscan era, and the town is dotted with ancient ruins and historic landmarks that bear witness to its past. The imposing Castle of Aghinolfi, perched atop a hill overlooking the town, is a prime example of the town's medieval architecture.
