La Chaumière

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from Le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. The people that inhabit Honfleur are called Honfleurais.

As you wander through Honfleur's picturesque streets, you'll be transported back in time to the 17th and 18th centuries, when the town was a hub for exploration and trade. The Vieux Bassin, or old harbor, is the centerpiece of Honfleur and is surrounded by centuries-old timber-framed buildings that now house art galleries, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

For those interested in history, Honfleur has plenty of fascinating landmarks to explore, such as the Saint Catherine's Church, which is the largest wooden church in France. The church was built by shipbuilders in the 15th century and has a unique double nave design that resembles an upturned boat hull.
