Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Roussillon was a historical province of France that largely corresponded to the County of Roussillon and part of the County of Cerdagne of the former Principality of Catalonia. It is part of the region of Northern Catalonia or French Catalonia, corresponding roughly to the present-day southern French département of Pyrénées-Orientales in the former region of Languedoc-Roussillon.

As you wander through the village, you'll be struck by the warm and vibrant colors of the buildings, which are all made from the ochre-rich soil that surrounds the area. The ochre quarries are a must-see, and you can take a guided tour to learn more about the history of the industry and see the different shades of ochre up close.

In addition to its natural beauty, Roussillon has a rich cultural heritage. The village is home to several art galleries and studios, showcasing the work of local artists, as well as a number of museums and historic sites. Don't miss the 12th-century Saint-Michel Church, which boasts stunning frescoes and a beautiful Romanesque bell tower.
