Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

La Canourgue is a commune in the Lozère department in southern France. In 1973 it absorbed three former communes: Auxillac, La Capelle and Montjézieu. It is sometimes referred to in French as "La petite Venise lozérienne", the Little Venice of Lozère.

As you wander through the village, you'll notice the beautiful architecture and historic buildings, including the 12th-century church of Saint-Martin and the 14th-century castle ruins. But there's more to La Canourgue than just its rich history.

The village is also known for its delicious local cuisine, including the famous aligot - a creamy mashed potato dish with melted cheese. You can also sample other regional specialties, such as lamb and beef from the surrounding farms.
