El Heer era el component de les forces terrestres de les forces armades del III Reich alemany entre 1935 i 1945. És el successor del Reichswehr. Durant la Segona Guerra Mundial, uns quinze milions de soldats van servir a l'exèrcit alemany, dels quals uns set milions van ser baixes. Separat del Heer, les Waffen-SS eren una força militar plurinacional del Tercer Reich. De tres regiments inicials a 38 divisions durant la II Guerra Mundial, serví al costat del Heer però sense formar-ne part de manera formal.
