Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Lindos is an archaeological site, a fishing village and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 178.9 km2. It lies on the east coast of the island. It is about 40 km south of the city of Rhodes and its fine beaches make it a popular tourist and holiday destination. Lindos is situated in a large bay and faces the fishing village and small resort of Charaki.

As you wander through the charming white-washed streets, you'll notice the distinct architecture of the buildings, which is a blend of Byzantine, Ottoman, and Greek styles. The highlight of Lindos is undoubtedly the Acropolis, which sits atop a hill overlooking the town and the sparkling Aegean Sea. The climb up to the Acropolis is steep but well worth it for the panoramic views of the surrounding area.

For history buffs, Lindos has plenty of fascinating sites to explore, including the ancient amphitheater, the Temple of Athena Lindia, and the Tomb of Kleovoulos. You can also visit the Church of the Panagia, which dates back to the 15th century and is home to beautiful frescoes and mosaics.
