Sidmouth is a town on the English Channel in Devon, South West England, 14 miles (23 km) southeast of Exeter. With a population of 13,258 in 2021, it is a tourist resort and a gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. A large part of the town has been designated a conservation area.
As you wander through the town, you'll notice the charming Georgian and Regency architecture that lines the streets. The town's history dates back to the 12th century, and you can learn more about it at the Sidmouth Museum. Additionally, the Norman Lockyer Observatory is a must-visit for astronomy enthusiasts.
One of the main attractions in Sidmouth is its pebble beach. Spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the sun or take a dip in the refreshing waters.
