Goathland is a village and civil parish in the county of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, it is in the North York Moors national park due north of Pickering, off the A169 to Whitby. It has a station on the steam-operated North Yorkshire Moors Railway line.
As you wander through the village, you will be greeted by quaint stone cottages, sprawling green fields, and friendly locals eager to share their stories with you. Goathland is perhaps most famous for its starring role in the hit TV series, "Heartbeat," and fans of the show will delight in exploring the various filming locations scattered throughout the village.
One must-visit spot is the Goathland Station, which served as the fictional Aidensfield Station in the show. Here, you can hop aboard a steam train and take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside as you chug along the tracks.
