A jambur is a structure that is used as a multipurpose hall by the Karo people of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The traditional jambur is a large pavilion-like structure raised above ground, wall-less, and placed under a large Karo traditional house roof style. Karo ritual ceremonies, e.g. wedding feasts, funerals, or general feasts, are held within the jambur. Jambur can still be found in big cities of North Sumatra, e.g. Medan, Kabanjahe, Berastagi, as well as small villages in the Karo lands.
When you first arrive in Jambur, you'll be struck by its natural beauty. Surrounded by lush green fields and rolling hills, this quaint little town is a true paradise for nature lovers. Take a stroll through the fields and breathe in the fresh air, or hike up one of the hills for a stunning panoramic view.
If you're interested in history, Jambur has plenty to offer as well. The town is home to several ancient temples and ruins, each with its own unique story to tell. Check out the stunning architecture of the Jambur Temple, or explore the ruins of the nearby fort.
