Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young, socially isolated ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. The story is told in two parts: the first is set in Naruto's pre-teen years, and the second in his teens. The series is based on two one-shot manga by Kishimoto: Karakuri (1995), which earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in Shueisha's monthly Hop Step Award the following year, and Naruto (1997).
Nestled in the Tokushima Prefecture on the island of Shikoku, Naruto is a quaint town that boasts of scenic natural beauty, a rich cultural heritage, and a variety of exciting attractions and activities that will keep you entertained throughout your stay.
One of the highlights of the town is the Naruto Whirlpools, which are created by the powerful tidal currents of the Naruto Strait. You can witness this natural phenomenon from the Uzu-no-Michi observation deck or take a thrilling ride on the Naruto Whirlpool Boat and get up close with the whirlpools.
