Botrivier is a small town of approximately 10 000 people, situated in the Overberg region of the Western Cape in South Africa.
As we drove into Botrivier, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Rolling hills, vineyards, and farmland stretched out as far as the eye could see, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The town itself is small and quaint, with a population of just over 2,000 people. Despite its size, Botrivier has a rich history dating back to the early 18th century, when it was settled by the Dutch East India Company.
One of the main attractions in Botrivier is its wine industry. The region is home to several award-winning wineries, producing a range of varietals including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc. Many of these wineries offer tastings and tours, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the winemaking process and sample some of the finest wines in the country.
